Piles or heamorrhoids are basically swollen veins around the anus or in the lower rectum. They occur internally (within the rectum) or more commonly externally (outside the rectum). This process creates a sac-like structure which gets further strained during our bowel movement, thereby causing pain and discomfort.
Laser is the most advanced treatment option for piles at present. Using energy source the piles is ablated. Laser ablation piles takes only 30 minutes. There is no after effect. The patient is discharged within 12-24 hours after the procedure and can return to normal work within 48 hours.
An anal fistula is an abnormal connection (infected tunnel) between the lining on the inside of your anal canal (back passage) and skin near anus. This occurs in up to 50% of patients with abscesses. Other causes are TB, inflammatory bowel disease, anorectal cancer etc.
There is no permanent cure of fistula without surgery. Fistula tract Laser Closure (FiLaC) which is the latest and most advanced method of treatment. The fistula tract is closed by a probe emitting laser energy without any cut. It takes only 25-30 mins for the procedure.
Laser piles surgery, also known as laser hemorrhoidectomy, is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a laser to remove inflamed hemorrhoidal tissue. The procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis and requires local or general anesthesia. During the surgery, the laser energy is directed at the affected tissue, which causes it to vaporize and shrink.
This results in the elimination of hemorrhoidal tissue without the need for incisions or sutures. Laser piles surgery has several advantages over traditional surgical methods, including reduced pain and bleeding, shorter recovery time, and fewer complications. However, it may not be suitable for all patients, and a doctor should be consulted to determine the best treatment options.
